Meet Starling at San Jose's new Memory Care Director, Carrie Walle

Starling at San Jose has a new Memory Care Director, who is passionate about enriching the lives of all the residents. Carrie Walle has worked with seniors for over 15 years. She started her career as a dining room server, at a senior living community and quickly realized she wanted to help organize the day-to-day operations and plan the seniors' activities.

In her most recent role as Program Director, she focused on the important work of keeping the residents engaged. Carrie explains, their environment plays a critical role in the happiness of memory care residents and she strives for excellence every single day. “From making sure their food is presented well, and their dining experience is comfortable,” describes Carrie, “all the activities we provide are personal to them and we make sure their homes are well taken care of.”

From the moment Carrie walked in the door at Starling at San Jose, she immediately felt welcome! She says the staff rally around each other and the residents, to make sure they have fulfilling days. “We have sensory based programs, crafting, games, music, opportunities for exercise, and spiritual programs,” states Carrie. She says she is excited about growing relationships with the residents and their families in her new role as Memory Care Director, at Starling at San Jose.
