Karen Sirmans moved into Starling at San Jose about a month after it opened and she immediately knew it was special. “The whole place looks like a five-star hotel. It really is a beautiful place.” She explains it isn’t just the building that’s luxurious, but the grounds are beautiful. Plus, the community is in a great location. Karen says she feels like she is part of a family at Starling at San Jose, “I feel at home here, I really do, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

Karen lived in a different assisted living community before moving to Starling at San Jose. She says this gives her great perspective about the wonderful Starling community. She explains this year has brought new challenges with the COVID-19 pandemic, but she feels safe knowing the staff at Starling at San Jose are following health guidelines. “I think it’s been really well done.”

The Starling at San Jose staff work around the clock to keep every resident engaged, providing socially distanced visits with family members through the window and video calls. Karen says she is thankful to have such wonderful care. “Some of them have become like children to me, like my daughters.”

Karen would recommend Starling at San Jose to anyone considering moving into a senior living community. “It’s like being in a family, truly it is,” explains Karen, “It’s just a wonderful place to live, and the food has been very good. We got a new chef and he does a really good job.” Karen says she just can’t say enough about Starling at San Jose, “I just hope I can stay here as long as the lord lets me.”
